We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for reading blueprints, preparing materials, fitting components, and fabricating metal products to customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working with steel, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Measure, mark, cut, grind, and fit metal components to specifications
- Assemble fabricated parts and structures using hand and power tools
- Assist with layout and preparation of materials for welding and assembly
- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, drills, ironworkers, and other shop machinery
- Verify dimensions and inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Move materials throughout the shop using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment as authorized
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work closely with welders, shop personnel, and supervisors to meet production schedules
Qualifications
- Previous fabrication, manufacturing, or metalworking experience preferred
- Ability to read tape measures and blueprints
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to understand fabrication drawings and specifications
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around machinery and equipment
Preferred Experience
- Structural steel fabrication
- MIG welding or weld assisting
- Metal fabrication shop experience
- Forklift operation
- Overhead crane operation
- Blueprint reading and layout work
