Maintenance Technician job opening in Bayonne, NJ
What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play an important role in keeping the apartment community safe, functional, and looking its best. You’ll handle a variety of day-to-day maintenance needs, troubleshoot problems, complete repairs, and help prepare apartment homes for new residents.
Key responsibilities include:
- Property Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance throughout the apartment community, including residential units, building interiors and exteriors, common areas, and other areas of the property.
- Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and complete general repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, small appliances, fixtures, and other maintenance needs.
- Flooring Installation: Install and repair tile and laminate flooring as needed.
- Apartment Turnovers: Prepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing necessary repairs and improvements, including sheetrock repair, taping, sanding, painting, and repairs to doors, windows, lighting, and fixtures.
- Emergency Maintenance: Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies in accordance with company procedures.
- General Support: Assist with additional maintenance projects and responsibilities as needed to support the property and residents.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in apartment maintenance, residential multifamily maintenance, or a related property management environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Fire Safety certification.
- Basic personal tools needed to perform routine maintenance and repair work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting and carrying heavy items, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and balancing.
