Manual Machinist / Toolmaker
Location: Mills River Area
Pay: $25 – $30 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
A manufacturing company in the Mills River area is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist / Toolmaker to join their production team. This position is responsible for operating manual machining equipment to produce precision parts while maintaining high quality and production standards.
Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders

Assist with the setup, production use, and maintenance of die sets and associated tooling

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan machining operations

Perform precision measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

Support additional shop tasks including fabrication, welding, brazing, heat treatment, or finishing when needed

Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards

Collaborate with production leadership and team members to maintain workflow and meet deadlines

Perform routine machine maintenance and follow established safety procedures
Qualifications

Experience operating manual machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders

Strong blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation skills

Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances

Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and adjust processes as needed

Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
