Shifts begin at 7am and end when the job is finished each day
The Watering/Disease Control Technician position involves supplying precise water to mushroom beds, applying crop protection treatments, and following safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Water Application: Supply water to mushroom beds and mycelium for growth without leaching into the underlying compost.
- Moisture Management: Raise moisture levels to field capacity intermittently before pins form.
- Disease & Pest Control: Apply pesticides and control crop-related diseases as instructed by growers.
- Equipment & Safety: Handle water tree equipment safely and follow standard operating procedures for hazardous chemicals.
Requirements & Physical Demands
- Calibration: Perform equipment calibrations as needed.
- Physical Effort: Frequent bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work Environment: Indoor agricultural facility conditions.
