Job Title: Welder – Custom Engineered Structures
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our client’s team full-time. This role is essential to the fabrication of custom-built shelters and structural assemblies designed to meet strict engineering, building code, and customer specifications. About the Work
The company specializes in designing and building custom shelters and enclosures that meet rigorous site-specific building and energy codes. Projects include:
- Welded galvanized light-gauge steel, rigid tube steel, and aluminum framing
- Full perimeter C-channel skid bases and longitudinal skid runners
- Fully insulated floor, wall, and roof assemblies
- Custom interior and exterior cladding systems (steel, aluminum, FRP, stucco, cement fiber board, corrugated siding, epoxy-coated steel, and more)
- Industrial roofing systems and commercial-grade flooring
- Structures built under oversight from engineering firms, third-party inspectors, and a certified quality control program
As a welder, you will directly contribute to the structural integrity and long-term durability of these specialized units.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-time, with potential for temp-to-hire
- Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Thursday, with occasional mandatory Friday overtime based on project needs

Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding on galvanized steel, aluminum, and rigid tube steel components
- Fabricate and assemble structural frames, skid bases, and support systems according to engineering drawings
- Work closely with assemblers, fabricators, and electricians to ensure seamless integration of all structural elements
- Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and detailed written instructions
- Use measuring tools, basic math, and fraction/ruler reading to ensure precise alignment and fit-up
- Operate shop equipment and tools safely, including welders, grinders, saws, and pneumatic tools
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Participate in quality control processes to meet strict engineering and inspection standards
- Work overtime when required to meet production deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder in industrial, structural, or fabrication environments
- Proficiency in MIG welding (additional welding processes a plus)
- Ability to weld galvanized steel and aluminum is highly preferred
- Strong blueprint reading skills, including weld symbols
- Solid understanding of fabrication techniques and safe shop practices
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and engineering specifications
- Basic math and accurate ruler/fraction reading skills
- Ability to lift, position, and handle materials safely
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Welding certification is preferred and may be required depending on project scope
