Job Description

The Aircraft Support Technician position performs basic cleaning, paint removing and scrapping of aircraft, aircraft parts and components with defined instructions in accordance with Erickson Air-Crane (EAC) requirements. This position also is a “mechanic helper” in any of the maintenance departments. Complies with all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures as a team player.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform basic cleaning, paint removal, and scrapping of aircraft, aircraft parts and components. Documenting work per company requirements.
  • Perform “mechanic helper “and general duties in work area as defined by Cell Leader.
  • Read and comply with Repair Station Quality Manual, Production Certificate Quality Manual, Standard Operation Procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, Technical Manuals, Drawings, and Specifications as applicable.
  • Perform housekeeping and other organizational requirements.
  • Achieve and maintain task qualifications for all work performed.
  • Work in a team environment and follow EAC Guiding Principles.
  • Travel as required to meet company and customer requirements.
  • Perform administrative duties e.g. Time entry, DAX, Training classes, and use department documents, etc.), as required by EAC company and department requirements.
  • Perform Lean, Standard Work and Continuous Process Improvements.
  • Mentor, train and coach new employees when qualified as a mentor or trainer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge to perform basic cleaning, paint removal, and scrapping of part tasks defined by EAC documentation. Knowledge of good housekeeping and organization tasks
  • Skill in aircraft part cleaning, paint removal and scrapping as required on production and maintenance documentation. To use and maintain cleaning, paint removal and scrapping equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions. Ability understanding when a part is clean, paint removed and a part is scrapped per EAC procedures.
  • Required that employee has some mechanical aptitude. 
  • Minimal communication is required both verbally and in written documentation.
  • Responsible for EAC and customer proprietary data and equipment.
  • Work 40 or more hours per week as directed (overtime, weekends, etc.)  Work with hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals and products to perform required tasks.
  • Have the following qualities: Good attitude and moral practice and promote safety, work ethics, punctuality, honest, team player, work alone or with others, positive influence, detail orientated, problem solving skills and if they do not know something, stop and ask.
