Job Full Description
The Medical Chaperone serves as liaison between the provider and patient; maintains a professional relationship with others; and uses effective communication skills to present a competent and caring attitude as a representative of the clinic.
The Medical Chaperone will be assigned to a particular area of the Clinic (Pediatrics).
Essential Job Functions
- Maintains strictest confidentiality of patient and business information. Adheres to all HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements and regulations. Complies with the Clinic’s Code of Conduct and professional expectations, including but not limited to appearance, attendance, and dress code requirements.
- Provides courteous, professional, accurate, and efficient support to all patients, providers, and employees.
- Protect the interests and well-being of patients.
- Verify the content of clinical conversations and physical exams.
- Provide documentation regarding clinical encounters.
Education
PBI Medical Chaperone Training Program – Clinic will provide this training.

- Maintains absolute confidentiality of all patient records and information, as well as all other Clinic matters.
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with all other clinic individuals to fulfill the mission of providing high quality health care to patients with compassion, integrity, and professionalism.

Authority
Reports to the Clinical Operations Director and individual provider.
Qualification Requirements
- Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA).
- Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations.
- Strong communication skills to support patients.
- Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff and people of all areas.
