Position Summary
The Energy Intake Specialist I – Bilingual serves as a primary point of contact for individuals seeking support through energy assistance programs. This role involves client engagement through phone, email, document handling, and in-person interactions, including initial screening, appointment scheduling, and providing program information and referrals. The specialist also supports bilingual communication needs by offering verbal interpretation and translating written materials into Spanish. As program needs evolve, this position may assist with additional administrative, outreach, or client service tasks to support mission and service delivery. The wage range is $18-$23.73 an hour.
Position Requirements

Conduct client interviews and screenings to assess eligibility for energy and emergency assistance programs, following established guidelines and criteria.

Collaborate with program leads or supervisors to determine appropriate funding sources and ensure accurate and timely completion of applications.

Manage client communications, including answering phones, returning calls, scheduling appointments, and supporting walk-in clients as needed.

Maintain organized client records and perform accurate data entry using internal systems and program databases.

Monitor and report client service data and funding usage to supervisors or program leads as requested.

Provide referrals to internal and external resources to support comprehensive client services.

Assist clients with emergency needs by facilitating access to available assistance and completing required documentation.

Support bilingual communication needs by providing verbal interpretation and translating written materials into Spanish for the department and agency.

Participate in team meetings, training, and other collaborative efforts to support program goals.

Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and agency objectives.
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of one year of experience in direct client support, customer service, or a related field.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational, record-keeping, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with diverse individuals and teams.

Proficiency in commonly used software applications, including Microsoft Office and web-based platforms.
