Purchasing Specialist

About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing advanced manufacturing organization in the medical / optical technology space is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support procurement operations. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure materials, components, and supplies are sourced and delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem solving, supplier coordination, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase materials, components, and operational supplies
- Evaluate pricing, quality, availability, and delivery timelines
- Create, maintain, and track purchase orders within ERP systems
- Communicate with suppliers to expedite orders and resolve issues
- Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records
- Support reporting and data analysis related to purchasing activities
- Partner with operations, production, and accounting teams to support business goals
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
- Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
- Experience with inventory or accounting systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- MRP experience
- Manufacturing or regulated industry experience (medical device, optical, or similar)
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating terms
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field OR equivalent work experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
