Job Full Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies while providing strategic financial insights to support business objectives. The Senior Accountant manages the finance and accounting functions and collaborates closely with senior leadership to drive sound financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Lead financial forecasting, analysis, and budgeting processes, including development and management of the annual budget.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis and recommendations.
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Establish, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decisions.
- Identify and implement best practices to improve efficiency and streamline accounting processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within finance and accounting functions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
