Project Engineer
A growing commercial concrete contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful execution of construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers and field teams to coordinate project activities, ensure quality standards are met, and help deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist with the day-to-day coordination of construction projects.
- Work with project managers, subcontractors, architects, and vendors to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
- Track project progress and help resolve issues that may impact schedule or scope.
Technical Review
- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Support field teams to ensure work is completed according to design standards and applicable regulations.
Quality Control
- Participate in inspections and quality assurance processes.
- Help ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards.
- Maintain documentation related to project compliance and quality.
Additional Responsibilities
Budget Support
- Assist in preparing project cost estimates.
- Track expenses and help monitor project budgets.
Scheduling
- Help develop and maintain project schedules using project management tools.
- Coordinate tasks and milestones to keep projects on track.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential project risks and assist with mitigation strategies.
- Support safety compliance and project delivery goals.
Communication
- Provide project updates to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Assist with resolving project issues and coordinating information between teams.
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Assist with evaluating subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support contract administration and ongoing vendor relationships.
Site Participation
- Participate in site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Help identify and resolve on-site challenges.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate project documentation including reports, RFIs, meeting notes, and project records.
Change Orders
- Assist in processing change orders and tracking impacts to cost, scope, and schedule.
Regulatory Compliance
- Help coordinate permits, inspections, and approvals as required throughout the project.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 1–4 years of construction, engineering, or project coordination experience or
- Education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with construction management or estimating software preferred (such as Sage 100 or similar platforms).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Professional phone and email communication skills.

Physical Requirements
