Purchasing Specialist

Location: Southern Oregon
Industry: Advanced Manufacturing / Medical / Optical Technology

About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing advanced manufacturing organization in the medical / optical technology space is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support procurement operations. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure materials, components, and supplies are sourced and delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem solving, supplier coordination, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase materials, components, and operational supplies
  • Evaluate pricing, quality, availability, and delivery timelines
  • Create, maintain, and track purchase orders within ERP systems
  • Communicate with suppliers to expedite orders and resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records
  • Support reporting and data analysis related to purchasing activities
  • Partner with operations, production, and accounting teams to support business goals

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
  • Experience with inventory or accounting systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MRP experience
  • Manufacturing or regulated industry experience (medical device, optical, or similar)
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating terms

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field OR equivalent work experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
