What You’ll Be Doing:
As the Residential Security Specialist, you'll be the central point of communication and oversight for movement and security within the facility. Your day-to-day will include monitoring hallways and common areas, keeping track of youth and staff movement, and supporting your team through clear communication and quick action when needed. You’ll use radios, cameras, and routine checks to ensure everything is running safely and smoothly.
You’ll also play a key role in documentation—maintaining logs, shift summaries, and reports to support ongoing care and safety protocols. The role begins with a thorough three-week training, where you’ll learn directly from the Security Supervisor and dive into safety policies and trauma-informed care best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track the movement of youth and staff throughout the facility
- Use radios, security cameras, and regular walkthroughs to maintain safety
- Intervene and report incidents when needed
- Assign staff to areas and assist with youth transitions as needed
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation (logs, shift reports, and incident summaries)
- Brief incoming shifts to ensure continuity and awareness
- Participate in ongoing training related to safety, trauma-informed care, and youth support
