Job Title: Organic Cook
Department: Kitchen / Food Service
Reports To: Kitchen Manager / Executive Chef
Position Summary
Express Employment Professionals is now hiring for an Organic Cook in Sparta, TN. The organic cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals using certified organic, locally sourced, and seasonal ingredients. This role ensures that all dishes are prepared in accordance with organic food standards, food safety regulations, and company recipes while maintaining exceptional taste and presentation.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items using certified organic ingredients.

Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.

Maintain knowledge of organic food standards and proper food handling procedures.

Ensure all food preparation meets health department and sanitation guidelines.

Assist with inventory management, rotating stock, and minimizing food waste.

Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.

Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely meal service.

Assist with menu planning using seasonal and locally sourced products when applicable.
Qualifications
-
Previous cooking experience required (organic or farm-to-table experience preferred).

Knowledge of organic food practices and sustainable cooking methods preferred.

Understanding of food safety standards (ServSafe certification preferred).

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Strong attention to detail and presentation.

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
