Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to support, maintain, and improve automated manufacturing systems. This position is responsible for developing, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC programs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and experience working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, program, and modify PLC logic for automated equipment

Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and control systems to minimize downtime

Diagnose electrical and mechanical system issues

Support new equipment installation and system startups
-
Maintain and update existing automation programs
-
Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams
-
Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures

Document programming changes and system updates
Qualifications
-
Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field (preferred)

2+ years of PLC programming experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms
-
Knowledge of HMI development and industrial networking

Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Manufacturing/industrial setting

May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting

May require off-shift or on-call support
Preferred Skills
-
Experience with robotics or automated production lines

Servo drive and motion control experience

Familiarity with VFDs and industrial controls
