Job Full Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Sewing Machine Mechanic to join our team in Sparta! If you have a strong mechanical background and enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial sewing machines and related equipment
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform timely repairs
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance to reduce machine downtime
- Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and product quality
- Replace worn or defective parts such as needles, belts, motors, and gears
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns on the production floor
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Collaborate with production teams to improve machine efficiency
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a sewing machine mechanic or similar maintenance role
- Strong knowledge of industrial sewing machines and mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or textile production environment
- Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics
- Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance/mechanics
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/production setting with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and production materials
