Position Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team in Sparta, Tennessee. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, ensuring excellent customer service while coordinating repair and maintenance work efficiently. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and accurately document service and repair concerns.
• Create and maintain repair orders and service documentation.
• Communicate recommended repairs, maintenance needs, timelines, and costs to customers.
• Coordinate workflow between customers, technicians, and management.
• Schedule service appointments and manage service department calendars.
• Monitor repair status and provide timely updates to customers.
• Process invoices, warranties, and service-related paperwork.
• Ensure accurate parts ordering and availability for scheduled repairs.
• Handle customer questions and resolve concerns professionally.
• Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions and service transactions.
• Support service department goals related to customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability.
• Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and industry standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or related service industry role.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of repair shop operations and service procedures.
• Proficiency with computer systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple service orders simultaneously.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Experience in automotive, heavy equipment, agricultural, powersports, or diesel service environments.
• Familiarity with service management software.
• Knowledge of warranty claim processing.
• Parts inventory or parts department experience.
