Job Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure efficient plant operations. This role requires a strong mechanical background, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment. Bilingual candidates are preferred to support effective communication across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and equipment
- Replace and repair components such as bearings, chains, belts, and motors
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform corrective maintenance in a timely manner
- Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting, including wiring, motors, and control systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards
- Work closely with production staff to ensure minimal disruption to operations
- Document maintenance work and report completed tasks
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in plant or industrial maintenance required
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment repair
- Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills preferred
- Experience replacing bearings, chains, and similar components
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Work Environment:
- Industrial/plant setting
- May require overtime, weekends, or flexible scheduling depending on production needs
