Project Foreman – Heavy Civil Construction
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Foreman to lead daily field operations on a variety of heavy civil construction projects. The Project Foreman plays a key leadership role by managing crews, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving productivity in the field. This position works hands-on approximately 80% of the time while mentoring crew leaders and coordinating with project management to ensure successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate field crews to meet safety, production, and quality objectives.
- Plan, schedule, and assign daily and weekly tasks to crew leaders.
- Work alongside teams on concrete, grading, excavation, and utility projects.
- Oversee materials, equipment, and workflow to ensure efficient progress.
- Monitor job performance and address field challenges as they arise.
- Train and mentor crew leaders, promoting growth and accountability.
- Enforce safety standards and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction (concrete, earthwork, or utility piping).
- Proven ability to supervise and coordinate multiple crews.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and equipment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to safety, integrity, and professionalism.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience as a crew leader or assistant foreman.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Experience overseeing multiple trades (concrete, piping, grading).
- Familiarity with tablets or digital tools for field reporting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
