Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Contract: 1-year contract with potential for extension or permanent conversion

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative / Technical Writer to support the engineering and compliance teams of a leading water valve manufacturer located in Springville, Utah. This role focuses on preparing, updating, and maintaining technical documentation, coordinating process workflows, and ensuring alignment with internal standards and certification requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong writing experience, excellent organizational ability, and the capacity to work effectively with engineers and cross-functional technical teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain Instructions, Operations, and Maintenance (IOM) manuals.

  • Review and edit documentation for hazardous location certification packages.

  • Develop and manage standardized reporting templates for consistent departmental use.

  • Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including scheduling and supporting review board activities.

  • Administer and prioritize requests in the Global Equipment Request Queue.

  • Manage the Validation Test Request Queue, ensuring timely assignment and resolution.

  • Support document control practices and ensure compliance with company standards and certification body requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineers, certification specialists, and project stakeholders to gather and organize technical content.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, documentation management, or administrative coordination in a technical or industrial environment.

  • Experience with document control systems, ECN workflows, and test request coordination.

  • Familiarity with hazardous location certifications (ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA, etc.) preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for working across global teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general document management tools.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.


Contract Details

  • Duration: 1-year contract

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time (40 hrs/week)

  • Compensation: Starting at $29/hr

  • Work Environment: On-site in Springville, UT

  • Attire: Business casual

  • PPE: Candidate must provide their own safety shoes; all other PPE provided

  • Conversion: Potential for permanent hire depending on performance and business needs
