Job Full Description
Express Employment is seeking Steel Warehouse Workers for an evaluation to hire position for our client company in Longview, WA. Individuals will be crossed trained and must be open to working day or swing shift.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Individuals will be responsible for a variety of functions within a warehouse environment including but not limited to:
- Will be use chain crane to load steel onto trucks.
- Will be pulling orders of steel from warehouse and yard from pull sheets - Lengths can run up to 65ft.
- Bundling and banding orders
- Load and unloading of flatbed trucks using forklifts
- Operate forklift, move product Forklifts is a 36,000lbs capacity.
- Will be required to get on and off the forklift all day
- Need to be able to push pull bend and lift and bend over frequently throughout the day.
- Heavy lifting of 50lbs continuously throughout the day.
Pay: $22.00-$24.00/ hr - 10% shift differential for night shifts
Shift - 6:00am-2:30pm Monday - Friday
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience operating a 36,000lb capacity forklift
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in the steel industry desired.
- Experience operating overhead crane
- Experience in use of cutter saw or burners to cut steel to length per orders
ABILITIES NEEDED IN PERFORMING JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform duties in a timely matter following the company’s safety policies
- Ability to recognize an unsafe condition and follow-up to correct said condition
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50lbs. easily
- Ability and desire to perform tasks in a year round outdoor / indoor environment on all shifts.
- Possess strong communication skills, verbal and written
