Job Full Description

A Client in Huntington is seeking a Legal Secretary for their office.

 

Schedule:  8:30 – 5:00 M-F with an hour lunch/37.5 hours per week

Pay rate :  $23.50 - $29.75, depending on experience

 

Objective:

Perform secretarial duties using legal terminology, procedures, and documents. Prepare legal papers and correspondence, such as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas. May also assist with case research.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

 

Moderate-term on-the-job training

 

Knowledge

Clerical

 - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Law and Government

 - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.

English Language

 - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
