Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 + per hour, with higher pay possible based on experience
Job description: A manufacturing company in Chesapeake is seeking both experienced and entry-level CNC Machinists to join their team. The ideal candidate will set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce precision components using CAD software. The position offers hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing equipment, a dynamic work environment, and opportunities for career growth within the company. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM) to verify tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine or tooling issues.
- Select and adjust tooling and fixtures for optimal machining performance.
- Conduct quality checks during production to meet specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes using lean principles.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all safety protocols.
- Assist with assembly or material handling tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience with CNC machining or manufacturing is a plus, but entry-level candidates are welcome.
- Familiarity with CAD software for part review and setup is a plus.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand basic mechanical principles.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Basic math skills for dimensions and tolerances.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or on a team.
