Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced SolidWorks Designer with Electrical expertise in designing industrial equipment and automated machinery. This position requires proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD electrical, AutoCAD, SolidWorks software along with experience design industrial robotics, industrial equipment and automated machinery. Electrical or Mechanical background is required. (If you have experience in some but not all these programs, we are willing to consider based on knowledge and experience.)
Key Responsibilities:

Develop 2D and 3D electrical designs and layouts using SolidWorks Electrical.

Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bill of materials (BOM).

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure accurate and manufacturable designs.

Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and customer requirements to produce detailed electrical drawings.

Ensure designs comply with industry standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC).

Assist with design revisions, documentation updates, and engineering change orders (ECOs).

Support prototype builds and provide input for electrical system integration and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
-
Associate degree or certification in Electrical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

2+ years of experience with SolidWorks Electrical (2D and 3D environments).

Strong understanding of electrical components, control panels, and wiring practices.

Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, UL508A, etc.).

Experience generating BOMs and working with ERP systems is a plus.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Skill and Attributes:

Knowledge of PLCs, motor control circuits, and automation equipment.

Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or custom machine-building environment.

Familiarity with other CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) is a plus
