Job Full Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a CDL Utlility Driver for a local construction company. The Utility Driver is responsible for operating company vehicles and crane equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining a valid CDL license at all times. This position also supports field crews by transporting forms, materials, and supplies to and from job sites, while ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a current CDL license and attend all required certification training as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Drive safely to and from job sites, following all DOT and company safety guidelines.
  • Operate a boom crane in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Deliver materials, supplies, and forms to job sites as requested by project leadership.
  • Track and manage forms and materials in the company’s inventory system; communicate regularly with superintendents and foremen regarding deliveries.
  • Support jobsite crews in the unloading and placement of panels and materials.
  • Inspect vehicles and crane equipment daily to ensure safety and operational readiness.
  • Submit daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) for assigned vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Required.
  • Boom crane certification or willingness to complete the company’s training program.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and equipment operation.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain clean and organized vehicles and equipment.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and loud noises.
  • Regular lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds; occasionally required to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be physically able to climb in and out of crane cabs, twist torso for full-range visibility, and use arms and hands to operate controls.
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Requires manual dexterity to handle equipment and materials.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
