Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Director of Finance/Controller in Pueblo, CO. The Director of Finance is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day accounting operations, the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, analyses, regulatory reporting, as well as strategic financial planning and reporting. The position requires knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Director of Finance is a key member of the organization’s leadership team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct all core accounting operations including cash management, AP/AR, billing, general ledger maintenance, fixed asset tracking and reconciliations
- Manage financial reporting by preparing monthly, quarterly and annual statements, forecasts and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee intercompany activities including cash management and reconciliation processes
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including local and state business tax filings and coordinate annual external audits
- Support acquisition-related financial integration activities to ensure seamless transitions and accurate reporting
- Partner with executive leadership team on strategy, annual budgets, forecasts and monthly business reviews
- Drive process improvements that promote automation, efficiency and scalability across the finance function
- Provide strong leadership presence by fostering accountability, performance and professional growth within the finance team while leading and mentoring staff
- Safeguard company assets by maintaining and enhancing effective internal controls
- Contribute to special projects and other initiatives that support overall business priorities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA license preferred
- 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting management experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or comparable leadership role
- Background in construction, infrastructure or related project-based industries strongly preferred
- Proven ability to oversee and coordinate multi-entity financial operations
- Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to make confident, informed decisions and influence across all levels of the organization
- Skilled in organizational and change management with a track record of creating stability and driving improvement within finance teams
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP with hands-on experience in:
• Lease accounting compliance (ASC 606)
• Revenue recognition compliance (ASC 842)
• Job cost accounting and project-based financial management

Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 base salary with 20% annual bonus; $55/HR - $68/HR
Schedule: On-site Monday-Friday
