Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Senior-Level Welder – GTAW. The Senior Welder will be responsible for fabricating high-precision welded products by interpreting engineering drawings and specifications while using modern welding technology. The ideal candidate is an expert in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) with extensive experience working with light-gauge stainless steel and aluminum.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Overtime: May be required

Essential Functions

Demonstrate expert-level skill in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW); proof of prior certification (preferably 6G position) is required
Perform high-quality welds on light-gauge stainless steel and aluminum plate
Pass 6G welder qualification tests on plate and pipe per AWS (American Welding Society) standards
Utilize shop tools such as tape measures, grinders, clamps, hammers, plasma cutters, cranes, and pipe layout tools
Read and interpret engineering documents, shop drawings, and welding symbols
Fit and weld simple to moderately complex assemblies using applied shop math
Perform basic troubleshooting of welding equipment
Accurately complete job-related paperwork, including travelers and checklists
Cross-train and support other departments as needed to meet production goals
Conduct visual inspections of welds for quality and defects using appropriate inspection tools
Follow guidance from qualified welding inspectors and participate in ongoing training
Work independently while adhering to established procedures and quality standards

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of 5+ years of relevant welding experience
Direct experience welding light-gauge stainless steel and aluminum using GTAW is required

Skills

Moderate proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints
Moderate proficiency in setting up and operating welding equipment

Education

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate Degree in Welding or a related field
(Equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education.)
