Campus Maintenance Associate / Maintenance Technician - Saint Benedict, LA
Large School & Church Campus
A large school/church campus is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Associate (Maintenance Technician) to join our Physical Plant team. This position supports the upkeep, safety, and efficiency of campus buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general carpentry repairs (framing, fences, doors, minor construction, etc.)
- Complete minor plumbing repairs (toilets, faucets, valves, drains, etc.)
- Complete minor electrical repairs (lighting, ballasts, switches, outlets, etc.)
- Conduct preventative maintenance (belts, filters, coil cleaning, inspections, etc.)
- Perform painting and wall repairs (sanding, priming, painting, sheetrock repair)
- Assist grounds crew as needed (grass cutting, bush hogging, weed eating, etc.)
- Maintain and service equipment (automotive, tractors, backhoe, lawnmowers, etc.)
- Coordinate or consult with contractors as assigned
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as directed by the Department Director
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC basics
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to operate and maintain grounds and maintenance equipment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting and outdoor work
Preferred Experience
- Campus, school, church, or commercial maintenance experience
- Equipment and small engine maintenance experience
