Job Full Description
Express Employment Brighton/Howell is assisting a client in Fenton, MI for a 1st shift candidate that will be a great fit to their team as a Receiving & Shipping Associate. This is a contract to hire through Express Employment. Goal is to get you hired in with client after completing the needed hours, performance review, and are reliable with great attendance.
1st shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday
Pay rate: $17.00 hr.
NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION!
Responsibilities:
- Etching part numbers and finishing parts as needed.
- Final quality check on outgoing items, including occasional light corrections.
- Ensure quality presentation of packaging and products.
- Accurate documentation: Updating inventory records, creating packing lists, etc.
- Adhere to safety regulations along with maintaining the cleanliness and order of the shipping area in line with the company’s 5S program.
- Ensure parts are shipped in a timely manner, either as soon as ready or in line with customer timeline.
- Coordinate with office and supervisor to monitor stock and inventory levels for upcoming work.
- Maintain inventory levels of packing products.
- Serve as backup or swing delivery driver as needed.
- Shut down shipping area at the end of the daily, including turning off equipment and cleaning the area.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
· Valid Driver’s License. - HIGH REQUIREMENT!
· High School Diploma or Valid GED
· Ability to work 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 6:00-4:30. Regular attendance and dependability is a must.
· Ability to read and write English at an intermediate level, understand mechanical specifications.
· Comfortable with basic computer operations.
· Able to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs.).
· Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse setting and able to adhere to company policies.
· Effective both independently or in team environments.
· Report to and coordinate with supervisor.
· Industrial experience a plus. Forklift experience desired, certification not required.
