Dispatcher – 2nd Shift

Shift: 2nd Shift (Afternoon/Evening)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher to support 2nd‑shift operations at our logistics facility in Swedesboro, NJ. This role is responsible for coordinating drivers, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate movement of freight. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, communicates effectively, and has prior dispatching experience in logistics or transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch drivers and coordinate daily routes to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
- Monitor driver progress and real-time schedule changes
- Communicate with drivers regarding routes, delays, customer requirements, and issues
- Work closely with internal teams (warehouse, operations, customer service) to resolve service challenges
- Track deliveries and update dispatch systems accurately
- Handle incoming calls from drivers and customers professionally
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and DOT requirements
- Document issues, delays, and resolutions as needed
- Support overall evening operations to maintain workflow and customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications
- Previous dispatcher experience required, preferably in a logistics or transportation environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in a fast‑paced setting
- Proficiency with dispatch systems and basic computer applications (email, scheduling software)
- High attention to detail and follow-through
- Reliable attendance and ability to work 2nd shift consistently
