Sorter Associate

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Position Summary

The Sorter Associate is responsible for sorting, separating, inspecting, and organizing recyclable materials to ensure proper processing and handling. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment while supporting daily operational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort and separate recyclable materials according to established guidelines.
• Inspect incoming materials and identify contaminants or non-recyclable items.
• Remove unwanted materials from sorting lines and designated work areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials as needed.
• Monitor material flow and communicate operational concerns to supervisors.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties throughout the facility.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify different material types.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
