Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to support production planning and order execution within a customized manufacturing environment in Guilderland, NY. This role serves as a central planning function, responsible for evaluating customer demand, material availability, and production capacity to determine the most effective way to process orders.
The Master Scheduler plays a direct role in driving operational efficiency, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with Customer Service, Operations, and Supply Chain teams, this position has meaningful influence over production decisions, workload balancing, and vendor utilization. This is an opportunity to operate with visibility across the operation and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
What You’ll Do

Review incoming customer orders and assign appropriate production methods based on inventory, capacity, and delivery requirements.

Monitor material availability and identify potential shortages, recommending alternatives or adjustments when needed.

Coordinate production schedules to maintain balanced workloads and minimize backlogs.

Collaborate cross-functionally to adjust plans and meet customer delivery commitments.

Determine when outsourced production is necessary and coordinate work with approved third-party vendors.

Track outsourced orders to ensure timelines and quality expectations are met.

Maintain accurate scheduling and planning data within ERP/MRP systems.

Analyze scheduling performance and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or supply chain operations.

Experience working in a manufacturing or customization environment preferred.

Strong ERP/MRP system experience; Epicor familiarity is a plus.

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.

Effective communicator with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Experience coordinating with external vendors or contract manufacturers preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred.
