Role Overview

The Mobility Production Assembler uses hand & power tools to assemble units according to assembly/work instructions and engineering plans. They rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. They will perform Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Plumbing assembly work. The production environment is fast paced and requires a high attention to detail. 

 

Responsibilities

· Produce the acceptable volume of work, as detailed in production routings

· Will assist in the identification of improvements in our assembly work instructions and testing

· Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

· Operate all shop equipment and tools as needed in a safe manner

· Read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, blueprints and policy and procedure.

· Cut, shape and install sheet metal panels.

· Install mechanical assemblies.

· Install plumbing components.

· Complete forklift certification.

· Perform all carpentry/Construction duties associated with Mobility projects. (Build walls, floors, cabinets, partitions, ect.)

· Work at a quality, consistent pace set by daily goals by Production Manager

· Keep workplace clean, tidy and in good condition.

· Return all tools and equipment to their designated spot after each use.

· Regularly inspect, clean equipment, notify supervisor and/or facilities maintenance immediately of machines or equipment needing repair or maintenance, and take any damaged or worn tools out of service.

· Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift/ move up to 50 pounds of material without assistance. Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance from others

· Ability to sit, bend or stand for long periods of time

· Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced

· Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery

· Manual dexterity required to work with both small and large parts

 

Qualifications

· High School diploma or GED equivalent

· Able to read a tape measure

· One year work experience, preferably in manufacturing

· Carpentry and mechanical experience preferred

· Knowledge of trailers and container based systems, a strong plus
