Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client’s accounting team. This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and a background in accounting or accounts payable. The successful candidate will be dependable, comfortable working independently, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Process invoices accurately and promptly, ensuring proper account coding and approvals.

Monitor accounts to ensure payments are made on time.

Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.

Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoices and payment inquiries.

Maintain vendor records and review monthly statements for accuracy.

Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for audits.

Reconcile month-end bank statements and general ledger accounts.

Prepare and issue checks for accounts payable.

Enter W-9 information and assist with 1099 preparation.

Track cash transactions and maintain records using Excel.

Generate monthly accounts payable reports for the accounting team.

Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

At least one year of general accounting experience preferred.

Working knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Experience with accounting software preferred.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and tactful approach.
