Job Full Description
We have an opening for a CDL driver. This is a fulltime "home every night" opportunity with excellent benefits.
Job Accountabilities:
- Adherence to Schedules: Ensure strict compliance with established delivery and pick-up schedules.
- Safe Driving Practices: Demonstrate safe driving practices and effective truck handling techniques.
- Maintenance Monitoring: Regularly monitor the delivery truck for any maintenance issues.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to current safety protocols, quality assurance standards, and personnel policies.
- Documentation: Complete and update daily mileage records, fuel receipts, and other required documentation. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Responsibilities: Perform assigned duties as per the operational needs, which may vary.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with supervisors throughout the workday and provide a summary at the end of the day.
- Order Accuracy: Review orders for completeness and accuracy before departure to ensure all items are accounted for.
- Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.
- Overtime: Be available to work overtime as needed.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor in actions, communication, and attire.
- Independence and Time Management: Demonstrate the ability to work independently with strong time-management skills.
- Attendance and Flexibility: Exhibit consistent attendance and flexibility to provide coverage for other drivers when necessary.
- Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records and ensure accurate counting and distribution of product to designated areas at all times.
Essential Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience required.
- Must possess an Oregon Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience driving medium-sized trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 26,000 pounds and medium-sized step vans with a GVW of 12,000 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements: Moderate physical demands, including the ability to enter and exit a truck and push/pull moderately heavy carts. Must be capable of lifting 40-50 pounds.
Environmental Conditions: Driving in various weather conditions, including winter and summer.
