Position Summary
This role sees high traffic volume from employees throughout the day. This role serves as an on-site HR and employee support partner, building strong relationships on the plant floor while proactively addressing employee needs, questions, and concerns. It manages leave of absence processes, supports benefits and payroll inquiries, and acts as a key liaison between employees, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate service. The position also delivers employee education, supports wellness and benefits programs, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while providing high-quality, bilingual customer service. The salary range is $23.90-$28.80 an hour. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Build positive working relationships with employees through regular presence on the plant floor and proactive communication.
- Support employees with workers’ compensation processes and coordinate with local teams as needed.
- Serve as the primary onsite contact for Leave of Absence (LOA) administration, including:
- Reviewing LOA communications and documentation.
- Coordinating updates within HR systems and communicating approvals or escalations to leadership.
- Assisting employees with leave-related questions and directing them to third-party leave administrators when appropriate.
- Collecting and submitting required documentation when employees need assistance.
- Confirming employee return-to-work status and communicating updates accordingly.
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries in person, by phone, email, video call, or text regarding benefits, payroll, leave administration, and HR programs.
- Provide exceptional customer service while supporting employees from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of technical ability.
- Assist employees with self-service HR tools and systems, including benefit updates and ID card requests.
- Document employee inquiries and issues within the ticketing system, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Escalate complex HR matters to the appropriate subject matter experts when necessary.
- Support onsite wellness and benefits programs, including health clinics, open enrollment, educational events, and employee meetings.
- Conduct regular employee education sessions related to benefits, wellness, and company programs.
- Facilitate new hire benefits orientations and ensure all onboarding materials are distributed accurately and timely.
- Assist with ordering benefits materials, promotional items, and event supplies as needed.
- Collect employee feedback through surveys and other engagement tools to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of HR or related experience required; 3+ years preferred.
- Customer service experience required.
- Experience with Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) preferred.
- Experience with benefits administration, payroll, and leave management preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent computer and office work requiring close vision.
