Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is excited to be hiring individuals to teach ice skating lessons at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink! The season will start in November and conclude at the end of January, with part time hours available (usually around 8 hours a week). Wage will range from $20.94 to $21.94 per hour.
Job Duties:
- Develop and execute instructional plans for teaching basic ice skating skills, figure skating techniques, and/or hockey skills.
- Apply educational principles to ice skating and hockey instruction, adapting to various skill levels.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective educational programs that enhance student development and enjoyment.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in all scheduled staff and in-service trainings during the season.
- Provide clear directions to staff for task completion.
- Enforce emergency action procedures as needed.
- Adhere to department policies and expectations.
- Fulfill assigned tasks from School Group-Instruction Coordinator, Ice Rink Manager, Recreation Manager, and other Management Staff.
Required Qualifications for All Positions
- Must be able to provide assistance to customers and staff to complete all duties associated with emergency action plan management including
- Operating a telephone
- Operating a computer
- Operation and transportation of pool equipment including backboard, AED and first aid equipment
- Effectively communicate with large groups of people to comply with safety protocol
- Must be able to provide assistance to customers and staff to complete all duties associated with regular ice rink operation including moving ice rink programming and maintenance equipment with appropriate assistance when necessary.
- Must be able to perform job-related duties in abnormal working environments associated with extreme temperatures, inclement weather, communicable diseases, poor air quality, and wildfire events in accordance with OSHA and Oregon Health Authority requirements.
- Must have availability that supports operation of recreation facilities and program schedules including weekends and holidays
- Be in possession of or have the ability to complete First Aid, AED, and CPR certification training.
