Job Full Description

Express Employment Professionals is excited to be hiring for the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink! The season will start in November and conclude at the end of January, with part time hours available (usually 15-30 hours a week). 

Ice Rink Lead - $21.44-$22.44 per hour DOE, typically 15-30 hours per week

Typical Job Duties

  • Monitor ice rink staff workflow and compliance with policies
  • Monitor ice rink patron compliance with facility and safety rules
  • Verify ice rink opening and closing procedures are completed on a daily basis
  • Supervise customer service transactions and inquiries
  • Organize daily deposit information and complete required forms
  • Perform all duties associated with Ice Rink Worker 1 and 2 duties

Essential Job Functions

  • Participate in all scheduled staff trainings and in-service training throughout the season
  • Communicate directions to staff to complete required tasks
  • Implement and supervise adherence to emergency action procedures when necessary
  • Meet department expectations and policies
  • Duties as assigned by Ice Rink Assistant Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Management Staff
  • Operate POS system and follow cash handling procedures
  • Provide accurate information to ice rink patrons

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Ice Rink Leads must be 18 years of age or older. Leads must have ability to be trained and operate rink maintenance equipment including tractor and Zamboni ice grooming machine.

Ice Rink Worker 1 - $18.94-$19.94 per hour DOE, typically 15-30 hours per week
Typical Job Duties

  • Provide work schedule availability in advance of season
  • Accurately operate computer-based cashier system to enter sales of admissions, concessions, and skate rentals.
  • Effectively communicate with staff and co-workers to provide accurate information regarding ice rink operations and programming.
  • Understand and follow established workplace procedures and rules for efficient rink operations.
  • Render first aid and assist with crowd control on the ice when appropriate.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while in uniform and on park property.
  • Clean and organize ice rink inventory including rental skates and concession items.
  • Clean and organize ice rink working areas and park property to keep facilities in safe working condition.
  • Assist guests with ice skate rentals, preparing concessions, and enforcing ice rink facility rules.
  • Other duties related to efficient ice rink operations as assigned

Ice Rink Worker 2 - $20.44-$21.44 per hour DOE, typically 15-30 hours per week
Typical Job Duties

  • Perform all duties associated with Ice Rink Worker 1 Job Duties
  • Operate and maintain ice surface maintenance equipment including tractor, Zamboni, and power/motorized tools.
  • Organize and maintain rental ice skate inventory including sharpening blades with skate sharpener.
  • Perform or assist with projects to repair/maintain ice rink facilities as directed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participate in all scheduled staff trainings and in-service training throughout the season
  • Implement and supervise adherence to emergency action procedures when necessary
  • Meet department expectations and policies
  • Duties as assigned by Ice Rink Assistant Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Management Staff
  • Operate POS system and follow cash handling procedures
  • Provide accurate information to ice rink patrons

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Ice Rink Worker 2 must be 18 years of age or older in order to operate ice rink maintenance equipment.

Required Qualifications for All Positions

  • Must be able to provide assistance to customers and staff to complete all duties associated with emergency action plan management including:
    • Operating a telephone
    • Operating a computer
    • Operation and transportation of pool equipment including backboard, AED and first aid equipment
    • Effectively communicate with large groups of people to comply with safety protocol
  • Must be able to provide assistance to customers and staff to complete all duties associated with regular ice rink operation including moving ice rink programming and maintenance equipment with appropriate assistance when necessary.
  • Must be able to perform job-related duties in abnormal working environments associated with extreme temperatures, inclement weather, communicable diseases, poor air quality, and wildfire events in accordance with OSHA and Oregon Health

Authority requirements.

  • Must have availability that supports operation of recreation facilities and program schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Be in possession of or have the ability to complete First Aid, AED, and CPR certification training
