Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a local client seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Drop Shipper to join their fast-paced warehouse team. This position works closely with Pickers and Packers to ensure orders are accurately labeled, packaged, and prepared for shipment.
Position Summary
The Drop Shipper is responsible for printing shipping labels from picked orders, verifying order information, and assisting with packaging and shipping activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with computers, has excellent attention to detail, and can maintain accuracy while working at a fast pace.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with Pickers and Packers to process customer orders for shipment.
- Print and apply shipping labels accurately using computer-based shipping systems.
- Verify product, quantities, addresses, and shipping information before orders leave the warehouse.
- Match shipping labels to the correct picked items and orders.
- Assist with packing, sealing, weighing, and preparing packages for shipment.
- Ensure packages are properly prepared according to shipping requirements.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors before orders are shipped.
- Organize completed orders and stage packages for carrier pickup.
- Operate computers and warehouse software to process orders and shipping information.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse team members to keep orders moving efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse policies.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping, fulfillment, or distribution experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn warehouse/shipping software quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and verify order information, labels, and shipping documentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift packages and materials as required.
