Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a local manufacturing and metal fabrication company in White City, Oregon. We are seeking an experienced Aluminum Welder / Fabrication Technician to join a fast-paced production environment. This position is ideal for someone with strong MIG welding skills, mechanical ability, and experience reading blueprints and assembling fabricated components.
Position Overview
The Aluminum Welder / Fabrication Technician will perform MIG welding, fabrication, and assembly of metal components and structures. The ideal candidate will have experience welding aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, with TIG welding experience considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel according to project specifications.
- Perform TIG welding as needed; TIG experience is a plus.
- Assemble fabricated components and structures using blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and assembly instructions.
- Inspect welds and finished assemblies to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper tolerances.
- Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools, including grinders, drills, plasma cutters, saws, and other cutting equipment.
- Measure materials and finished components using tape measures, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Prepare materials for fabrication, including cutting, grinding, fitting, and finishing.
- Work with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements.
- Assist with other fabrication and assembly duties as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of MIG welding experience, preferably with aluminum.
- Experience welding aluminum, steel, and/or stainless steel.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and metal properties.
- Experience using common fabrication tools and equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Welding certification is a plus but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
