Job Details

• Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and identify electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues using diagnostic tools like multimeters and pressure gauges. 
• Repairs: Replace or fix malfunctioning components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, and valves.
• Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, change filters, clean coils, and lubricate parts to optimize system performance and prevent future breakdowns. 
• Compliance: Safely recover, recharge, and handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations. 
• Customer Service: Communicate repair needs and maintenance recommendations clearly to clients. 
• Documentation: Record service calls, parts usage, and work performed using service logs or software. 

• Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited HVAC technical training program or formal apprenticeship.
• Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification is strictly required to handle refrigerants. NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is highly preferred.
• Experience: Typically 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial service.
• Skills: Strong understanding of thermodynamics, electrical circuits, and reading technical schematics.
