Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Painter to join our manufacturing team. As an Aerospace Painter, you will be responsible for applying protective coatings to aerospace components using spray guns in a manufacturing setting. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest quality finishes while adhering to strict aerospace industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate spray guns to apply coatings, paints, and finishes to aerospace components according to specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as required, ensuring proper adhesion and finish quality.
- Mix paints and coatings to achieve desired colors and textures, following precise formulations and specifications.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, including spray guns, pumps, and ventilation systems, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct regular inspections of finished products to verify adherence to quality standards, making any necessary adjustments or touch-ups as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks, meet production schedules, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and production metrics to support quality control and process improvement efforts.
- Uphold a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and craftsmanship in all aspects of the painting process, ensuring flawless finishes that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a painter in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in operating spray guns and other painting equipment, with a keen eye for detail and precision.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation methods, and coating materials used in aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to aerospace painting, including safety protocols and environmental compliance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in painting or related fields are a plus.
