Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Apartment Maintenance / Handyman to perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, apartment turns, and property upkeep for a residential apartment community. This position requires hands-on maintenance experience and the ability to troubleshoot and complete a variety of repairs independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete resident work orders and maintenance requests.
- Perform apartment make-ready and unit turn work.
- Handle basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, and leaks.
- Perform basic electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, fixtures, and lighting.
- Complete drywall repairs, painting, caulking, and minor carpentry.
- Troubleshoot and repair appliances when possible.
- Repair doors, locks, cabinets, hardware, and fixtures.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine property inspections.
- Maintain common areas and assist with exterior property repairs.
- Identify larger repair needs and report them to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and property policies.
Requirements
- Previous apartment maintenance, handyman, property maintenance, or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems independently.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Must be dependable, professional, and safety-conscious.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical maintenance work throughout the shift.
- Ability to use ladders and work indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to work in occupied and vacant apartment units.
