Are you an experienced electrician looking to expand your career in the rapidly growing solar energy industry? We are seeking Journeyman Electricians to help install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential and commercial projects. Position Overview

The Journeyman Electrician will play a key role in solar PV installations, ensuring all electrical components are installed safely and efficiently. This position involves working closely with apprentices, site supervisors, and customers to complete high-quality solar energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and connect solar panels, inverters, and electrical components to existing power systems.

  • Perform wiring, conduit installation, and panel terminations according to NEC code and safety regulations.

  • Troubleshoot and test PV electrical systems, ensuring proper functionality and compliance.

  • Inspect electrical systems and resolve any issues to ensure the highest level of quality and performance.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow OSHA safety standards.

  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

  • Travel to job sites as needed, with company-covered lodging and per diem for overnight stays.


Qualifications:

  • Verifiable Journeyman Electrician experience with at least 4,000 documented hours of electrical work.

  • Ability to pass an electrical licensing test within 6 months (if not already licensed in Illinois).

  • Experience with PV system installation preferred but not required.

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in conduit bending, wiring, and troubleshooting electrical systems.

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).

  • OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain it.

  • Ability to work extended hours, including 10-12 hour shifts as needed.

  • Must be comfortable with heights and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.

Work Environment:

  • 90-100% Field Work – Job sites vary, requiring travel and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

  • 0-10% Shop Work – Some duties may require work in our facility.

  • Overnight Travel – Monday through Friday travel expected, with accommodations provided.
