Quality Assurance (QA) Laboratory Technician

Location: Champaign, IL
Pay Range: $17/hr - 25/hr


Overview:

We’re seeking a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician to support testing and analysis of product samples in a controlled lab environment. This role ensures that all materials and finished products meet company and regulatory quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and experience following standard testing procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests and analyses on various samples such as food, soil, fertilizer, or other substances following established protocols.

  • Prepare, label, and handle samples to ensure accuracy and traceability.

  • Record and interpret data using laboratory instruments, software, and documentation systems.

  • Compare results to established specifications and report any deviations or abnormalities.

  • Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper operation.

  • Assist in developing and revising testing procedures and quality documentation.

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality assurance guidelines within the laboratory.

  • Collaborate with QA, production, and R&D teams to support continuous improvement and product quality initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field preferred.

  • 1+ year of experience in a laboratory, quality, or testing environment preferred (academic or professional).

  • Familiarity with standard lab equipment and testing methods.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and analysis.

  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain organized records.

  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and reporting.
