Job SummaryWe are seeking a reliable MIG Welder to join our team at our Champaign, IL location. This 1st-shift role supports fabrication and production operations by welding metal components to specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced shop environment.
Shift & Pay
Shift: 1st shift, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Pay: $20.75 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on steel and/or aluminum components according to drawings and work instructions
Set up welding equipment, adjust settings, and prepare materials for welding
Read and interpret basic blueprints, weld symbols, and measurements
Inspect finished welds for quality, strength, and accuracy
Grind, clean, and finish welds as needed
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Work collaboratively with fabrication and production teams to meet production goals
Qualifications
Previous MIG welding experience (shop or production environment preferred)
Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
Familiarity with welding tools, equipment, and safety practices
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Welding certification or technical training
Experience welding structural steel, sheet metal, or fabricated assemblies
Blueprint reading experience
