Line Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Line Technician to install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical or utility lines. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with line work, safety procedures, and equipment operation to ensure reliable service and quick restoration during outages.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, install, maintain, and repair electrical or utility lines (overhead and underground)
- Respond to emergency outages and perform timely line repairs
- Climb poles, operate bucket trucks, and work at heights safely
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized line equipment
- Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and schematics for proper installation and repair
- Test lines and equipment to identify faults and ensure functionality
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA/utility safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and job documentation
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in line work, electrical maintenance, or utility repair
- Ability to work at heights and in varied weather conditions
- Knowledge of electrical systems, transformers, and related equipment
- Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, and hand tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment, climb poles, and work long hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman or Apprentice Line Technician certification
- CDL license preferred
- Experience with underground line installation and fiber optics
- Familiarity with safety equipment: gloves, harnesses, hot sticks, and insulated tools
Work Environment
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Exposure to high voltage and physically demanding tasks
- May require night, weekend, or emergency on-call response
Compensation & Schedule
- $20 - 23/hr
