Manufacturing Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Manufacturing Assistant to support daily operations in a fast-paced machine shop environment. This role is critical to ensuring smooth workflow across purchasing, production coordination, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, strong in math and systems, and thrives in a hands-on manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Learn and effectively utilize the company’s ERP system (ECI Software Solutions) to support shop operations
- Assist with ordering materials, including various grades of metal, and ensure accuracy in purchasing
- Create and manage job folders, material tags, and purchase orders
- Process orders, shipments, vendor payments, and maintain accurate documentation
- Verify incoming shipments and ensure all receiving paperwork is complete and accurate
- Communicate with vendors, internal teams, and leadership to coordinate materials and timelines
- Manage email correspondence and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner
- Enter and review employee time and attendance, including correcting timesheets and tracking part counts
- Input invoices and assist with basic accounting-related tasks
- Answer phones and provide general administrative support as needed
- Review blueprints and assist with making basic adjustments when required

- Accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, invoices, and shipments
- Well-organized and up-to-date documentation and job tracking
- Strong communication and coordination across shop and office functions
- High level of accuracy with minimal errors due to strong attention to detail
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of office or administrative experience required (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Previous ERP software experience is required (experience with ECI Software Solutions strongly preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Basic accounting knowledge or background preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials (especially metals) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus
- Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to perform unit conversions (e.g., pounds to inches)
