Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Lead with a background in sheet metal work to oversee a short-term barn construction project in Penfield, IL. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to guide a small crew to complete the project efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily construction activities on-site
- Coordinate and assist with the installation of sheet metal components, including roofing and siding
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
- Ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders
- Troubleshoot issues and adjust plans as needed to keep work on track
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction leadership or foreman role
- Strong background in sheet metal work (cutting, fitting, installation)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, and safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site in Penfield, IL
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with agricultural or barn construction
- OSHA certification (preferred but not required)
Work Schedule:
- Full-time hours for the duration of the project (schedule to be discussed)
