Professional repair shop experience required
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Small Engine Mechanic to service golf carts, batteries, and related equipment. This shop-based role includes mechanical repair, electrical diagnosis, battery testing, and routine service on both gas-powered and electric equipment.
Applicants must have paid, hands-on experience in a repair shop, dealership, equipment service center, or comparable professional environment. Personal projects and independent side work alone will not meet the experience requirement.
What You Will Do
- Diagnose and repair small engines and related mechanical systems
- Service gas-powered and electric golf carts
- Test batteries, chargers, cables, and electrical connections
- Diagnose starting, charging, and basic electrical problems
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Replace worn or damaged parts
- Complete tune-ups and routine service work
- Use shop tools and diagnostic equipment safely
- Record completed work and needed parts
- Maintain a clean and organized repair area
What We Are Looking For
- Previous professional small engine, golf cart, equipment, automotive, or powersports repair experience
- Mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting ability
- Experience testing batteries and charging systems is preferred
- Ability to diagnose problems instead of replacing parts at random
- Familiarity with professional shop procedures and repair documentation
- Dependable attendance and pride in completed work
- Ability to work independently after receiving a repair assignment
